Inventor’s Note Welcome to a new age and dimension of energy production; powerful, clean, dependable, abundant and eternal. Lunar Pulse Drum’s confoundingly simple concept would be Earth’s holistic answer to our most pressing need. ‘New’? Probably part of what Archimedes saw, but had no use for at the time, as he got in the bath, the water rising upwards pushed air upwards, with the force of his own bodyweight. The tide behaves just like Archimedes’ bath, but (more slowly, in it’s own time) with the force of a billion tonnes. The slow, almost imperceptible tidal motion eluded engineers until a chance observation (in the bath) resulted in the birth of LPD. It’s never been done before. LPD embraces this power impassively, unobtrusively with no environmental disruption, in fact it’s surface can provide habitat, leisure or residential/commercial space depending on location. Multiplying this irrepressible slow-motion source to workable speed, traditionally, would need a mountain of gears and levers. LPD does it hermetically. Technical illustrations and description are available instantly to prospective investors, but essentially LPD works: Part submerged on sturdy legs, in otherwise unused space, as big or small as needed, with ‘skirt’ reaching below low water, the upper convex surface just protruding at high tide. A ‘vent’ atop piped to an hermetic ‘air-motor’ and generator. As the tide rises, air is pushed through the vent, and sucked back again as it falls. The output of an LPD per sq. metre? Half that rated by solar-voltaic panels, and less than the sweep-area of a wind turbine, yet, from the equator to pole, wherever located, solar energy is only available for an average maximum 10 hrs per day of 365 days . Similarly, turbines, depend on the weather. An LPD will convert 100w per square metre encapsulated. It’s output is expandable and exponential. Build-cost of an LPD per sq m/100w is a fraction of solar or wind, and does not encroach on valuable land, while the fabric of concrete (and potentially bulk waste e.g. mixed plastics) won’t wear out or expire. Unlike any other technology in it’s lucrative field, build-cost could be recovered within 5 years.
